Dealing With the New Me -- October 4, 2019 (Part I)

Teddy was out in the rain -- but not as a human, but as the wolf. Scorpius and a few other Slytherins had ticked him off so badly that he just couldn't control what he was. James had brought him out here and then Teddy had run away from his friend, to protect him. Teddy didn't want to hurt James. But there was one minor detail -- he hadn't turned back yet. He had been the wolf for more than an hour. Normally he changed once he calmed down. And he was calm, wasn't he? He was by himself in the Forest. He wondered if it was his lonliness that kept him in this unwanted form. Maybe it was because this was the one way to stay near his deceased father...

Teddy laid down on the wet grassy floor of the Forest and put his head on his front paws and whined. He didn't want to be the wolf. He didn't want to be different because he already felt like an outcast. Teddy felt himself changing back into himself. Thank Merlin, he thought when he saw his hands and fingers. He stood up and found a stump and sat on it -- with it still raining outside. He was soaking wet, but he didn't want to go back into the castle just yet...

Emotion swept through him. He put his head in his hands and wept.

Teddy stopped crying for a moment and thoughts swam in his mind. If only he wouldn't have been so adamint about helping the Order... if he had just tried being with me instead of fighting... If only she had done the same thing... If only... He shook his head. He couldn't think those thoughts. He would've done exactly what his parents had done: fight. Teddy couldn't have stayed behind and missed out on the action; that was just one thing he had inherited from his parents. Teddy sat on the stump in the pouring rain, his elbows on his knees and his chin being supported by his hands. How was he going to handle this? How was he going to deal with this grief? Could he ever get over it? Probably not.

Teddy finally stood up. He was very cold and wet. He needed to eat. He needed new clothes. He needed the chairs by the fireplace... Teddy started walking. He had no idea how deep in the forest he was; he just knew that he had to get away from people -- Malfoy and other Slytherins, to be exact. He started walking through the soggy forest when something caught his eye. Unwilling to go back to the castle just yet, he went to investigate what he had seen. He bent down on one knee and saw a ring imbetted into the ground. He dug it out and saw that the stone in it was cracked slightly. He flipped it over, examining it. Then something caught his eye... He turned to his left and saw a young, handsome looking man standing next to a young, beautiful woman who had bright bubble-gum pink hair. His parents!!

(Yay!! 100!!!!)

Teddy gasped loudly. He stared at his parents. They looked good! He just gazed at them. They were walking towards him. They were smiling. But something was off... they weren't real. They were more like ghosts that could talk and move. But they were the closest thing Teddy had. He looked down at the ring and then back at Remus and Tonks. Something was up... but he didn't really care.

Victoire hurried through the forest. James had said Teddy went into it."Teddy?" She called out panicing. She couldn't see him anywhere. She was frightened for him hoping he wasn't doing anything bad to himself.

Teddy heard Victoire's voice, breaking him away from the reality he faced. Her voice, though, made him jump; he had dropped that ring. He looked to where his parents were standing -- they were gone! He pocketed the ring and stood up. He took a deep breath to calm himself. Then he yelled, "Victoire? What are you doing out here?" He started moving, listening to her footsteps on the soggy ground... and following her sent that flooded his nostrils.

She breathed a sigh of relief. "I was just looking for you." She called out. "where are you Ted?"Victoire pulled her cloak around her. It had begun to rain harder and the forest seemed erie like some form of devilry was going on.

Teddy came up behind her. "Right here," he said, putting his hands on her shoulders.

"Hi." She muttered turning around and giving him a quick kiss before hugging him.

Teddy hugged her back. "What's wrong?" he asked. She didn't seem like herself.

"I was worried. You seemed moppy and I didn't want you to...to kill youself." She stammered.

Teddy smiled. "I'd never kill myself, babe. I've got you to live for."

"Aw." She said smiling a bit. she hugged him again. "Well I was just worried that's all. So what were you doing out here?"

"Er... moping, like you said," Teddy replied. He wasn't sure how to tell Victoire about his new self. He wasn't even sure if he should tell her about it...

"Oh. "" She kisses him" Would this." *kisses again* "Make you feel better?"

Teddy smiled through the kiss. "It'd make me feel better if we were both dry and warm and kissing..."

She kissed him again." Well I can't do much about that right now can I?"

"I guess not," Teddy said, smiling. He bent down and kissed her again. "But I can," he said, he scooped Victoire up into his arms and started toward the castle. They were very deep in the forest and Teddy wasn't even sure this was the right way. But he acted like he knew it was.

"Ted I can walk." Victoire protested not minding being carried but it was way easier to walk. And a hell lot more comfortable.

"OK," he said, he set her down gently. He took a deep breath. He smelled the food that was warm in the Great Hall. "Ooh!" he said, "dinner's on. C'mon, let's go. I'm starving..."

"Alright. Can I sit with you?" Victoire questioned kissing him again.

"You can always sit with me, babe," Teddy said kissing her back.

She smiled at quickly kissed him again before leading him into the Great Hall.
